Sevilla, la ciudad que enamora al mundo.

Viviendo en Lisboa, siempre escuché hablar de muchas ciudades españolas cerca de la frontera con Portugal, pero sin duda alguna, había una que siempre sobresalía cuando la gente hablaba de ella, y finalmente decidí visitar Sevilla.

Llegamos un Sábado en la tarde y nos regresamos el domingo por la mañana. Me hubiera encantado tener más tiempo para visitar toda la ciudad, y poderles mostrar más, pero desafortunadamente tuvimos pocas horas para visitar la ciudad a pie, así que aquí les dejo un poco de mi experiencia de un día en Sevilla, la cual me dejó con muchas ganas de visitar otra vez!

Living in Lisbon, I’ve always heard about many Spanish cities close to the Portuguese border. Without any doubt, there was one that always stood out when people talked about it, so I finally decided to visit Seville.

I visited Seville last weekend (April 7th). I would have loved to have more time to visit the whole city and be able to show you more, but unfortunately, we didn’t have the time, so here you have a little of my experience of a day in Seville, which left me wishing to visit it again!

Para conocer la capital de Andalucía basta caminar en sus calles, sentir el aroma a Jasmine, y copiar los hábitos de los Sevillanos. Si no sabes que rumbo tomar, no te preocupes, entra a un bar prueba las tapas y tomate una «caña» (cerveza).

If you really want to visit the capital of Andalusia, it is enough to walk in the streets, feel the aroma of Jasmine, and copy the habits of the Sevillians. If you do not know what direction you should go, don’t worry, go to a bar, try the tapas and take a «caña» (beer)

ARQUITECTURA EN SEVILLA

Las riquezas patrimoniales y culturales dejadas por los Moros son notables en cada paso que das, y si hay algo que hace destacar esta ciudad, es su impresionante arquitectura.

The patrimonial and cultural riches left by the Moors are remarkable in every step you take, and if there is anything that makes this city stand out, it is its impressive architecture.

TORRE DE GIRALDA

La torre de Giralda es el monumento más emblemático de la ciudad. Con su altura y elegancia de piedra y tabique, es el reflecto de los colores de la capital de Andalucía.

The Giralda tower is the most emblematic monument of the city. With its height and elegance of stone and partition, it is the reflection of the colors of the capital of Andalusia.

PLAZA DE ESPAÑA

La plaza de España es uno de los principales atractivos, su imponente arquitectura emociona a cualquiera, aparte de ser el escenario de películas como Star Wars: el ataque de los clones, El dictador, El Viento y el León, y Lawrence de Arabia.

 

 

«Plaza de España» is one of the main attractions, its impressive architecture thrills anyone, apart from being the setting for films like Star Wars: the attack of the clones, The Dictator, Lawrence of Arabia and The Wind and the Lion.

 

Las obras de construcción comenzaron en el año 1914, resultando el proyecto más ambicioso y costoso de la Exposición Iberoamericana de 1929, llegando a trabajar en su construcción mil hombres al mismo tiempo, siendo finalmente concluidas en 1928.

The construction works began in 1914, resulting in the most ambitious and expensive project of the Exposition, reaching a thousand men working at its construction at the same time, finally being completed in 1928, to be inaugurated coinciding with the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.

 

 

La plaza tiene 200 metros de diámetro, con forma semielíptica, que simboliza el abrazo de España a sus antiguas colonias.

La plaza consta de cuatro tramos de catorce arcos cada uno, en cuya parte inferior se sitúan bancos de cerámica dedicados a cada provincia española.

Dónde comprar los mejores churros de Sevilla?

«Bar el Comercio» es uno de los bares más antiguos de Sevilla, una tradición familiar desde 1904.

Desde el momento que entras puedes sentir el cálido ambiente, ver el mostrador de madera, las paredes tapizadas de cuadros antiguos y el exquisito olor a churros, los cuales son servidos al momento, por supuesto muy calientitos.

La ración de 5 churros cuesta €2 y el chocolate caliente €1.50, también puedes comprar tapas y otros montaditos.

Where to find the best Churros?

«Bar el Comercio» is one of the oldest bars in Seville, a family tradition since 1904.

From the moment you enter you can feel the warm atmosphere, see the wooden counter, the walls covered with old paintings and the exquisite smell of churros, which are served at the moment, warm and crispy.

The ration of 5 churros costs €2 and the hot chocolate €1.50, you can also buy tapas and other montaditos.

Dónde dormir?

Nos hospedamos en el Hostal Babel, que nos costó €20 euros por persona por noche.

Las instalaciones están muy bonitas, y lo más importante, están limpias. El personal es muy amable y la ubicación es perfecta, ya que se localiza en el centro de la ciudad. No cuenta con estacionamiento, por lo que tuvimos que pagar €20/día para dejar nuestro coche dentro de un estacionamiento privado.

Where to stay?

We stayed at Hostal Babel, which cost €20 per person per night.

It was very nice, and most importantly, it was clean.
The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect since it is in the city center. It does not have parking, so we had to pay €20 a day to leave our car in a private parking lot.

TIPS

• Si visitas Sevilla en automóvil, te recomiendo buscar un hotel con estacionamiento, las calles de Sevilla son muy estrechas y es difícil estacionarse, y los estacionamientos están siempre llenos.
• Visita el restaurante «No-lugar The Art Company», la decoración es simplemente maravillosa.
• Estuve un día en Sevilla y no me dio tiempo de ver todo lo que quería, definitivamente recomiendo quedarse mínimo dos días.
• Si tienes pensado visitar «Real de Alcázar» te recomiendo comprar tu boleto aquí! Te evitarás hacer una fila enorme.

• If you visit Sevilla by car, I recommend you look for a hotel with parking, the streets of Seville are very narrow and it is difficult to park, even the parking lots are always full.
• Visit the restaurant «No-lugar the art company» the decoration is simply wonderful.
• I was in Seville one day and didn’t have time to see everything I wanted, I definitely recommend staying at least two days.
• If you plan to visit «Real de Alcazar» I recommend buying your ticket in advance here!! You will avoid making a huge line.
